JDF Bantam A2 take Silver at Seafair Tournament

The JDF Bantam A2 Grizzlies finished with a respectable Silver in the A pool making it all the way to the finals against the also undefeated Saanich A Team.

The Grizzlies started out Friday evening by beating the Seattle T-Birds 6-2. Saturday saw two games on the schedule. The first, an early morning 7;15am game was against the hometown Seafair team where after trailing 5-4 saw the Grizzlies bury 4 goals in the 3rd period to win 8-5. The evening game was against the always tough, hard working Alberni Valley Bulldogs where the Grizzlies gave up 3 short handed goals but still came away with a 5-3 win.

Saturdays Semi-finals was all island teams. Saanich A against Alberni Valley and JDF vs. Cowichan. The B Pool consisted of Seafair, Seattle, Portland and Colorado. The Grizzlies managed a 4-1 win against the hard hitting Capitals.

Sunday the Grizzlies fell to the Saanich Braves A team 7-1 for the Silver Medal.
